Yesterday I went to the induction program of Teach India. Teach India is an initiative by the Times of India group to promote the education for the underprivalaged section of the society. In this initiative Times of India connects volunteers to the various NGOs who work for the underprivalaged children.
During the induction session held all over the city the volunteers were asked to meet the representatives of the various NGOs. My induction was held in S.L. House in Panchasheel Park. There were the representatives of 3 NGOs Katha, Prayas and Butterflies. They gave the detatils about the work they are doing and the centres from which they operate. we were asked to choose the NGO which with we would like to be associated with and possible time and venue where we would like to volunteer. I chose Katha and the tughlakabad area. I will be able to volunteer on the saturday evenings
We will receive the mails regarding our NGOs and the time adn place in a few days. We have to serve for a minimim period of 3 months. I am really looking forward to this work and a chance to give back to the soceity
